The Cosmetology Department at Pueblo Community College (PCC) is offering a creative way for locals to show support for two important causes — breast cancer and domestic violence awareness. The department is selling pink and purple hair extensions for just $5, with all proceeds going to organizations that promote awareness and support for these causes.
Pamela Graham, a breast cancer survivor, highlighted the emotional connection that people feel when purchasing the extensions, saying, “It makes the kids feel good to give back and do something when someone sits down and says, ‘my mom had breast cancer, and I want to get a pink extension for her,’ or, ‘I’m a survivor of domestic violence and want a purple extension or nails.’”
The extensions are available from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday until the end of October at the PCC Cosmetology Department. For those who prefer not to purchase extensions, donations are also being accepted to support the causes.
