Anya Taylor-Joy has once again reinvented her look for an upcoming film, this time debuting a dark hair transformation for The Gorge. The highly anticipated Apple TV+ action movie, also starring Miles Teller, has released its first images, giving fans a glimpse of Taylor-Joy’s striking new look.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, known for his work on Doctor Strange and The Black Phone, The Gorge follows Drasa (played by Taylor-Joy) and Levi (Teller), two elite snipers tasked with covering a mysterious and treacherous gorge. The film promises high-octane action and intense drama, and Taylor-Joy’s character looks ready for the challenge, sporting a slick costume and her bold new dark hairstyle.
Apple TV+ shared the first stills from the film on social media, accompanied by a teasing caption: “You’ve never seen a long-distance relationship like this before. Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller star in The Gorge — coming in 2025.”
Alongside Taylor-Joy and Teller, the film boasts a strong supporting cast that includes Sigourney Weaver and William Houston. The screenplay is penned by Zach Dean, known for his work on The Tomorrow War and Fast X.
While The Gorge isn’t set to hit screens until 2025, Taylor-Joy is riding a wave of success following her recent role in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The Mad Max prequel sees her stepping into the shoes of the fierce warrior Furiosa, a role previously portrayed by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. In a recent interview, Taylor-Joy described Furiosa’s journey as “traumatizing,” revealing that the emotional depth of the character hit her hard.
“Within the first three minutes, I’m crying. And afterward, I cannot speak. I found it very traumatizing to watch,” Taylor-Joy said, reflecting on her character’s intense experiences. She also highlighted Furiosa’s stoic nature, saying, “Furiosa doesn’t talk much. She’s a pretty silent character. I hope that’s part of the reason George [Miller, the director] chose me.”
