“WWE NXT” star Lexis King has sparked attention with a fresh look inspired by Lord of the Rings hero Legolas. The wrestler, whose real name is Brian Pillman Jr., revealed the new hairstyle on social media, explaining his decision to model it after the beloved character due to Legolas’ reputation for always doing the right thing.
Taking to his X account, King shared a photo of his updated appearance, which includes his signature facial hair, dark sunglasses, and a hairstyle reminiscent of the elven warrior. “Another day means another opportunity to prove I am the BETTER man! I had my girlfriend do my hair like Legolas because he was a great hero that always did the right thing, just like I’m going to do tonight on @WWENXT,” King wrote. He added the hashtag “Long Live Lexis King” and tagged The CW, further promoting his upcoming match.
The change in hairstyle could be a sign of a character shift, as King is potentially gearing up for a babyface turn in WWE’s developmental brand. King has been involved in an ongoing rivalry with Meta-Four’s Oro Mensah. The two have exchanged victories, with Mensah pinning King during their September 24th match, using the ropes for added leverage. Prior to that, King secured a win over Mensah in a quick match, similarly using his feet on the ropes.
In last week’s episode of “NXT,” King sought advice from Heritage Cup Champion Charlie Dempsey, asking what he could do to gain an advantage over Mensah and which type of match would best prevent cheating. King and Mensah are set to face off once again on Tuesday’s “NXT” at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, although no specific match stipulation has been confirmed ahead of the event.
Fans are eager to see if King’s new look and attitude will signal a shift in his in-ring persona as the feud between him and Mensah continues.
