At New York Comic Con 2024, Matt Smith, known for his role as Daemon Targaryen in House of the Dragon, provided an update on the highly anticipated third season of the series. He admitted he has yet to see any scripts or hear details about the storyline, echoing the curiosity of fans. His co-stars, Fabian Frankel and Tom Glynn-Carney, confirmed they too were in the dark, with Tom humorously stating, “Not a jot, not a letter.”
The show, renewed for two more seasons, concluded its second season on August 4 and is set to start production on season three next year, with a release expected in 2026. Showrunner Ryan Condal has indicated that the series will conclude after four seasons, with pre-production already underway.
During the event, Smith showcased a striking new look—a shaved head with a brightly dyed mohawk, which he sported for his upcoming film Caught Stealing. This adaptation of Charlie Huston’s novel features him alongside Austin Butler, and the film follows a former baseball player navigating the criminal underworld of 1990s New York City. The star-studded cast includes Zoë Kravitz, Liev Schreiber, and Regina King, with Darren Aronofsky directing.
