Tim Lovejoy, the 56-year-old host of Sunday Brunch, shared a candid moment on his Channel 4 show, opening up about his past attempts to make his hair appear fuller.
On this weekend’s episode, Lovejoy was joined by co-host Simon Rimmer, with guests including Olympic athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, broadcaster Gyles Brandreth, comedian Lloyd Griffith, and Boyzlife. The lively discussion turned to the topic of hair transplants when Griffith, who is recovering from his own procedure, shared his struggles with thinning hair.
In the midst of the conversation, Lovejoy revealed his own method for thickening his hair, admitting to using powder after seeing it used in makeup: “Because I saw someone use it in makeup one time, I started using that powder to just thicken it up a bit,” he said. “But then it’s like ‘what am I doing?'”
Griffith, who had previously tried various methods before opting for a hair transplant, also took the opportunity to show off the results of his surgery, which he described as a last resort after exhausting other options.
In a related exchange from 2021, Lovejoy had addressed his hair loss when a fan reached out on social media platform X. The fan, concerned about their 21-year-old son experiencing rapid hair loss, asked Lovejoy for advice. Lovejoy responded with practical advice: “Whether we like it or not it’s tough. The problem with procedures is once you’re in, you have to keep going. This is why I didn’t go through with transplant. The only real advice is go short and own it. It took me a while.”
With his lighthearted admission and honest reflections, Lovejoy continues to resonate with viewers, showing that hair loss is a relatable concern even for television personalities.
