Dolly Parton is gearing up for a holiday season full of sparkle and cheer. In a recent interview with guest host Jessie James Decker on TalkShopLive, which aired Thursday, December 13, the country music icon, 78, shared her love for dressing up in full festive fashion during the Christmas season.
“I wear everything Christmas,” Parton said enthusiastically. “When it comes to Christmas, I go all out—socks, shoes, sweaters, earrings… and my hair lights up!”
Her holiday spirit extends beyond her wardrobe. Parton revealed that one of her favorite traditions is hosting her nieces and nephews for a special event she calls “cookie night.”
“I keep them for a day and a half, from one afternoon all night until the next day,” she explained. “They drive around the farm on the golf carts, and it’s just a fun, festive time.”
The “Jolene” singer is dedicated to making the evening special, saying that she always dresses the part. “If I’m dressing like Santa Claus, I’ve got to have all my Santa gear on,” she noted.
For her holiday baking sessions with her family, the iconic singer makes sure her festive attire is complete with accessories that light up. “When we’re doing cookies, I’ve got to have my earrings that light up, lights in my hair, and sweaters that light up,” Parton shared. “I’m all about Christmas. I’m a Holly Dolly Christmas girl.”
Dolly Parton’s over-the-top holiday spirit and style are as bright and fun as her music, making her Christmas tradition a memorable celebration for her loved ones.
