Actress and entrepreneur Ashley Tisdale is taking her wellness brand, Being Frenshe, into the hair care industry. The High School Musical star, who launched her brand in 2022, has unveiled a new collection of shampoos, conditioners, and scalp serums designed to address various hair needs, including moisture, restoration, and clarification.
Tisdale, 39, shared her inspiration for focusing on hair and scalp health rather than styling products, explaining to WWD, “We often take our hair for granted until something happens—whether it’s a diagnosis or noticing a bald spot. When I considered expanding my brand, hair care felt like a natural and right direction. There’s no line that’s purely dedicated to nourishing and taking care of your hair.”
The actress revealed that her personal journey with hair health was influenced by her battle with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss. After years of experimenting with different hairstyles for her acting roles, Tisdale began to embrace her natural texture and reduce the frequency of hair bleaching.
“I’ve developed a real hair ritual because of the long journey I’ve been on,” Tisdale said. “When I was younger, I had my hair cut off by 10 inches and dyed blonde for a role. It started with bleach, then extensions, and it became a horrible cycle. I even dyed my hair pink and experimented with other colors.”
The new line of hair care products will be available exclusively at Target in the U.S. starting December 29.
In addition to the new hair care range, Being Frenshe also offers body care products, fragrances, and candles, continuing to expand its offerings within the wellness space.
