Trump’s Hair Loss in the Spotlight Again Amid New Finasteride Revelations

by Madonna

Donald Trump’s hair has always been a topic of fascination, but recent photos revealing a large thinning spot have reignited public chatter — with some social media users now urging the former president to “shave it off.” The latest viral moment came after unflattering images circulated online, showcasing what appears to be significant hair loss at the crown of his head.

At 78, Trump remains in the public eye and insists he’s in “excellent” health, according to a newly released report from the White House following his first annual physical of his second term. However, critics continue to question his stamina, often pointing to his age, diet, and more recently, visible bruises on his hands and his increasingly sparse hair.

Social media has been relentless. One user joked, “What the heck is going on with the Trump hair. Grip baldness man and shave it off!”

Finasteride: The Secret Behind the Hair?

It’s long been speculated that Trump uses medication to help with his hair, and now those rumors have been confirmed. Dr. Harold Bornstein, Trump’s former longtime physician, previously revealed that Trump takes a small dose of finasteride, a drug originally developed for prostate issues but also commonly used to treat male pattern baldness under the brand name Propecia.

This drug lowers levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA), which may explain why Trump reportedly has abnormally low PSA levels — something that had puzzled some medical professionals in the past. Finasteride works by blocking the hormone DHT, which contributes to hair loss in men.

Dr. Bornstein, who famously boasted that both he and Trump “have all [their] hair” thanks to the medication, treated Trump for decades, starting in 1980. The physician also noted that Trump was under his care for regular procedures like colonoscopies and annual physical exams.

But What About the Side Effects?

While finasteride may help slow hair loss or even regrow hair in some users, it’s not without its risks. The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) recently issued a safety alert about the drug. Side effects can include depression, suicidal thoughts, reduced libido, and sexual dysfunction.

The agency has found that many patients and even prescribers are unaware of these potential dangers, prompting a warning label update to inform users of the risks and what to do if they occur.

Dr. Alison Cave, MHRA’s Chief Safety Officer, emphasized the importance of awareness: “It’s crucial that patients are aware of vital information about the medicines they’re taking.”

Will Trump Drop the Combover?

Given the recent attention on his thinning hair and the potential health concerns surrounding finasteride, it remains to be seen whether Trump will continue his long-standing battle with baldness — or finally embrace a more natural look. Until then, the hair saga continues, one windblown snapshot at a time.
