Cher Vows to Maintain Iconic Style with Long Hair and Jeans at 80

by Madonna

Renowned singer and style icon Cher has declared her intention to uphold her signature look of long hair and jeans even as she approaches her 80s. During an appearance on “Good Morning Britain” this Monday, the 77-year-old artist opened up about her current endeavors, which include working on new music and an upcoming memoir.

Cher, celebrated for her timeless fashion choices and music career spanning decades, confidently asserted that she has no intentions of forsaking her beloved jeans or cutting her hair short, even when she reaches the milestone age of 80. Her reason? She intends to “keep up with the trends.”

“I just can’t believe I will be 80 at some point, sooner than I wish,” Cher mused during the interview. “And I will still be wearing my jeans, and I will still be wearing long hair, and I will still be doing the same stuff I’ve always done.”

In September 2022, the iconic singer even graced the runway for Balmain, donning a striking silver bodysuit. Cher reminisced about a conversation with her friend Paulette, where they pondered when they would have to conform to societal expectations and give up jeans and long hair, but as of now, that moment has not arrived.

The “Believe” hitmaker, who is celebrated for her timeless beauty, attributed her age-defying appearance to good genetics. She mentioned her mother, Georgia Holt, who lived until the age of 96, as a testament to her family’s longevity.

Cher pondered, “But I don’t know if not feeling old makes you younger. I keep up with the trends, I have lots of young friends. I have old friends too.”

Despite her youthful looks, Cher emphasized that she is not attempting to feel young; rather, she is embracing her true self and simply going with the flow of life.

“I’m not trying to be young — I am who I am,” Cher expressed. “I’m just getting along.”

Cher had previously shared some of her wellness tips in the health and fitness book “Forever Fit,” co-authored with Robert Haas in the early ’90s. In the book, she outlined her healthy lifestyle choices, including quitting smoking, abstaining from drugs, limiting coffee and alcohol consumption, and avoiding red meat. Cher also made dietary adjustments to incorporate nonfat milk instead of whole milk, all contributing to her enduring vitality and well-being.
