Former Boxing Champion Scott Quigg Breaks Stigma Surrounding Hair Transplants

by Madonna

Scott Quigg, the former world super-bantamweight champion, retired from professional boxing in 2020 and subsequently became more aware of his receding hairline. At 35 years old, he decided to undergo a hair transplant at The Hair Dr, a renowned hair restoration clinic. Quigg spoke candidly about how his self-image concerns intensified once he stepped away from the boxing ring.

Quigg explained, “I started losing my hair when I was 23 or 24. It started receding at the sides, and it was definitely something I was keeping an eye on. While I was in the public eye a lot, boxing helped me put my hair loss to the back of my mind because people were only interested in how well I performed in the ring, not how my hair looked.”

However, after retiring in 2020, Quigg’s hair loss began to weigh heavily on his self-esteem. He shared, “That’s when I started having negative thoughts about how I looked, and it affected me more and more. I had more time on my hands and fewer distractions, so I was having more battles in my head about my appearance.”

Like many individuals experiencing hair loss, Quigg initially tried various products to conceal the issue. Eventually, he decided to explore hair transplant options, leading him to Dr. Arshad at The Hair Dr.

After undergoing the hair transplant procedure earlier this year, Quigg was delighted with the results. He emphasized the importance of openly discussing men’s experiences with hair loss and their decisions to seek solutions like hair transplants.

Quigg commented, “I want to show men that there’s absolutely no problem with having a hair transplant, and it doesn’t carry the stigma some people still think it does. Nobody bats an eyelid when women have treatments like Botox or lip fillers, and it shouldn’t be any different if a man wants to improve his hairline.”

The Hair Dr, with clinics in London’s Harley Street, Leeds, and Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, is recognized as a leading hair restoration and diagnostic specialist in the UK. Dr. Arshad emphasized that hair transplant techniques have advanced significantly, offering a range of restoration solutions to address hair loss.

Scott Quigg’s willingness to openly discuss his hair restoration journey serves as an example for men facing similar concerns, breaking the stigma around cosmetic procedures for men and emphasizing the importance of self-confidence and self-care.
