London Christian High School students celebrated a successful fundraising campaign, exceeding their target in the Relay for Life event.
“We raised over $23,000, surpassing our goal of $20,000,” said Grade 12 student Abby Wynja. “It’s incredible because we didn’t think we could achieve this for our first time organizing the event. Everyone has done great work to raise this money.”
To mark this achievement, the top fundraisers got the chance to shave the hair of two teachers.
Cancer survivor and art teacher Corinna Cameron shared her story and led the school in the first lap of the Relay for Life.
“This afternoon, we’re participating in the Relay for Life, where we walk around a track to show that cancer doesn’t stop. So, we’re not going to stop walking,” said Wynja. “We have fun games, slushies, cotton candy, pizza, and we come together as a community to support this cause.”
