Lena Dunham, the creator of “Girls,” has debuted a striking new look. The 38-year-old revealed on Instagram that she dyed her brown hair jet-black.
“The youths say Wednesday, but I’m old enough to know Vampira did it first… My beloved @16arlington for ghouls night out … fresh armor care of @infinitealterity,” Dunham captioned her post on June 6.
Dunham shared a photo of herself showing off her goth-inspired hair color. In the image, she poses at the bottom of an outdoor staircase, gently twirling her hair.
Celebrity friends praised her new look in the comments. Tinashe commented, “Ok wait the black hair slays,” while Myha’la Herrold added, “Excellent.”
This hair transformation comes just a month after Dunham celebrated her 38th birthday. She shared photos on Instagram from the occasion, writing, “Turning the respectable age of 38 in a sea of love, art and animals. Don’t quit before the miracle, kids.”
One of the birthday photos included a sweet snapshot of her husband, Luis Felber, kissing her. The couple, introduced through mutual friends in early 2021, got married in September of that year at the Union Club.
Felber, a musician who performs under the name Attawalpa, spoke about their relationship to The New York Times. “I think when you know, you know,” he said. “I think — I’m going to sound cheesy — but when you find your soulmate, you just know.”
Dunham also marked their two-year wedding anniversary last September with a heartfelt Instagram post. “2 years of marriage but there’s only 1 you @attawalpa,” she wrote. “I can’t believe I get to share a bed someone who giggles in his sleep (not in a horror movie way, in a joy way) and wakes up ready to slay (also not in a horror movie way, in a ‘werk b—-‘ way). You’re everything I’m not//you’re everything to me.”
