DSM-Firmenich has introduced the ULocks line of hair care products, specially crafted for textured hair. The company aims to provide a pleasurable and unique hair care experience.
Textured hair often faces several challenges, including scalp disorders, difficulty in combing, hair loss, lengthy care routines, breakage, oily scalp, and dullness. To address these issues, the ULocks line incorporates vitamins, natural origin actives, and refreshing fragrances.
The ULocks line features LockCare complexes, which blend vitamins and natural actives with LockScent technology to extend fragrance duration. According to the company, the fragrance molecules form hydrogen bonds with hair keratin, ensuring a lasting scent until the next wash. These effects were demonstrated in a sensory test on hair swatches, comparing fragrance intensity on Day 1 of a typical wash day routine with a refreshing routine extending to Day 4 and Day 7.

1. Cleansing Conditioner:
- 75% of consumers with coily hair reported it left their hair soft, nourished, and shiny.
2. Hydration Mousse:
- 70% of consumers with coily hair found it easy to apply.
- 95% reported it left no residue.
3. Luminous Wax:
- 95% of consumers with coily hair felt their hair was nourished without a sticky effect.
- 85% reported their hair was silky and shiny.
4. Scalp Serum:
- 84% of consumers with coily hair experienced good scalp hydration.
- 95% reported no stickiness.
5. Nourishing Oily Gel:
- 85% of consumers with coily hair found their hair silky and shiny.
- 95% appreciated its rich, pleasant texture and easy application without residue.
For all the products, 72% of consumers agreed that the formulas had a long-lasting fragrance, keeping them feeling fresh until the next wash, according to DSM-Firmenich.
