NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C — The Charleston Natural Hair Expo was a vibrant celebration of diversity, culture, and the beauty of natural hair.
On Saturday, the event provided a platform for individuals to embrace and honor their hair in its various textures.
Attendees had the chance to shop from both local and out-of-town vendors and participate in educational discussions on natural hair care. The expo also featured live hair demonstrations.
Ebbie Drayton, the Founder and Coordinator of the Expo, emphasized the importance of understanding hair care. “A lot of people don’t know how to take care of their hair. They might not realize that much of it comes from within, from what you put in your body,” Drayton explained.
“Having the resources and the education really gives people an idea of what they can do to protect themselves and their hair,” Drayton added.
The expo wasn’t just about hair; it was also about building community connections and having fun.
“We aim to enrich the community while showing them a good time. They can shop, enjoy good food, and learn about hair care in general,” Drayton said.
