A heartwarming salon in Failsworth, My Luscious Locks, is making headlines for its incredible work supporting children suffering from hair loss. The salon, run by Ashley-Marie Higgings, has been tirelessly providing wigs, hair replacement systems, and hair accessories to children in need for more than six years. Now, they are gearing up for their most significant charity event yet: the Little Lady Locks Starlight Winter Gala.
Ashley’s journey to founding Little Lady Locks started with her desire to help children regain their confidence through personalized hair solutions. Since officially launching the charity in 2021, the organization has transformed the lives of more than 1,000 children by providing affordable and high-quality hair loss solutions.
The salon’s mission is funded by contributions from clients, and to support its growing impact, Little Lady Locks has held annual winter galas. The 2023 gala saw well-known personalities like TV host Gail Porter and former Love Island contestant Kaz Crossley, who has alopecia, host the event.
Now, the highly anticipated 2024 Starlight Winter Gala promises to be the biggest and best yet. It will be held at the stunning Kimpton Hotel in Manchester on Friday, November 15, and aims to raise even more funds to help children who face the challenges of hair loss.
The event will be hosted by Olivia McVeigh, a beauty influencer and makeup artist who personally understands the struggles of alopecia. Her connection to the cause makes her a fitting choice to lead the gala, which promises to be a night filled with inspiration, celebration, and compassion.
Guests can look forward to an evening of live entertainment, with performances by Girls That Mix, a DJ and instrumentalist group, the internationally acclaimed vocalist Victor Michael, and the talented singer Hayley Maria. The event kicks off at 6:30 pm and will run until 1 am.
All tickets include a welcome drink, a three-course meal, and access to a charity auction with exclusive items, the proceeds of which will directly support Little Lady Locks. Businesses also have the opportunity to get involved through sponsorship packages, with high-profile sponsors already secured, including Loreal Paris, Beaverbrooks Jewellers, and Remi Cachet.
Speaking about the event, Ashley shared: “Our last ball in 2023 was a wonderful celebration of our life-changing work and brought together our fantastic hair community and supporters from all over the country. This year’s event is set to be even bigger, with a stunning venue that can host up to 600 guests.”
With excitement building, the Little Lady Locks Starlight Winter Gala is poised to be a magical night that supports an incredible cause, helping children regain their confidence and live fuller, happier lives without the worry of hair loss.
