This outing comes shortly after she dropped her long-standing legal battle against ex-husband Brad Pitt, which included allegations of physical and verbal abuse.
At the event held at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX, Jolie, 49, wore a shiny champagne-colored silk gown paired with a dark gray jacket. Her vibrant red lipstick complemented her voluminous curls, highlighting her radiant look on the red carpet.
In Maria, Jolie portrays opera singer Maria Callas, who lived in Paris during the 1970s.
This public appearance follows weeks of developments in her divorce proceedings. A source close to Jolie noted, “She seems really relaxed and happy. It’s like she’s turned over a new leaf.” Jolie shares six children with Pitt: Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Vivienne and Knox (16).
Jolie initially filed for divorce in 2016 after an alleged incident during a flight, where she accused Pitt of choking one child and hitting another. She claimed he also assaulted her physically during the altercation. While Pitt has denied these allegations, he admitted to struggling with alcohol issues. The investigation by authorities did not lead to any charges against him.
In addition to her legal matters, rumors circulated about Jolie’s relationship with British rapper Akala. However, a source clarified that she is not dating anyone at this time. The insider explained that Jolie is close friends with Akala’s girlfriend, Chanelle Newman, who was present at various events where Jolie and Akala were seen together.
Recently, Jolie attended the London Film Festival premiere of Maria, engaging in a busy schedule of press and screenings throughout her trip. Despite speculation about her relationship with Akala, the presence of Newman at these events dispelled any romantic notions.
