Everything You Need to Know About Aveda’s Cutting-Edge Hair Treatment

by Madonna

As social media floods with images of individuals flying to Turkey for hair transplants, many are discovering new solutions for hair thinning—solutions that don’t require a costly trip to the operating room. For years, men and women have sought ways to address hair loss, often feeling pressured by the increasing visibility of procedures like hair transplants. A recent study from NYU Langone Health reveals that over 80 percent of men and nearly 50 percent of women will experience hair thinning at some point in their lives.

While hair transplants remain a popular option, not everyone with thinning hair needs to resort to surgery. A wide range of hair care products claim to reverse thinning, though experts warn that not all are backed by solid research.

Aveda, a leading beauty brand, has spent years developing a solution for hair loss. The company’s initial line, Invati, was introduced in 2012 to target thinning and breakage. Since then, the brand has continued to improve its formulations, with the launch of Invati Advanced in 2018. Most recently, Aveda introduced the Invati Ultra Advanced collection earlier this year, following nearly a decade of research in collaboration with the University of Bradford in the U.K.

According to Christine Hall, Aveda’s Vice President of Research and Development, the new line features a “high-performing, multi-step system” designed to significantly reduce hair loss due to breakage. The Invati Ultra Advanced collection includes products such as exfoliating shampoos, thickening conditioners, a scalp serum, and a thickening foam. The system incorporates Aveda’s exclusive Follicle Vitality Complex, which reduces breakage-related hair loss by up to 77 percent, offering a promising alternative to more invasive treatments.

The collection offers tailored formulas for different hair types: light formulas for fine to medium hair, and richer versions for thicker strands. With a growing number of hair care options hitting the market, Aveda’s new line positions itself as a science-backed solution for those looking to combat hair thinning without the expense of surgery.
