Tracy-Ann Oberman shocked a The Wheel contestant by revealing the truth behind James Nesbitt’s hair transplant in the middle of the show. The revelation left contestant Martin visibly surprised, prompting him to ask, “Is this common knowledge?”
In a preview clip for this weekend’s episode, Martin shared that he would spend any prize money he won on a hair transplant. This led host Michael McIntyre to ask the celebrities on the panel if they had any knowledge of such cosmetic procedures.
Capital Breakfast’s Jordan North chimed in, mentioning that his brother had traveled to Turkey for a hair transplant. Oberman, seemingly unable to resist, quipped, “Jimmy Nesbitt went to Ireland! It’s nearer.”
Martin, realizing the significance of the comment, asked, “Is this common knowledge?” Oberman confidently responded, “Yeah,” before adding, “Do you know why? Because he got it for free, so he’s happy to let everyone know.”
The audience erupted in laughter as Oberman’s revelation added an unexpected twist to the show. Her comment wasn’t without merit: James Nesbitt has publicly shared his own experience with hair transplants, even offering a testimonial on the website of the clinic where he underwent the procedure.
Nesbitt, known for his role in Bloodlands, has undergone three hair transplants at Hair Restoration Blackrock (HRBR) in Dublin, Ireland. His first procedure took place in 2007, with subsequent treatments over the following few years.
In his testimonial, the actor recalled how hair loss deeply affected both his personal and professional life. He described having a thick head of curly hair in his 20s before noticing it thinning. The sight of hair on his pillows every morning became an obsession, and he found himself constantly scrutinizing his hairline in mirrors and windows.
Nesbitt revealed that his lack of confidence during this time led him to repeatedly ask family and friends whether they noticed his receding hairline. However, he expressed relief and renewed confidence after the transplant, describing the positive impact it had on his mental and physical well-being.
His openness about the procedure, including the fact that he received the treatments free of charge, aligns with Oberman’s claim that Nesbitt is more than happy to share his experience.
