Transcend Hair and Beauty Salon has successfully raised £12,000 to support the vital services provided by Tynedale Hospice at Home.
The fundraising initiative was led by salon owner Jackie Boylan, who organized a series of events to support the charity. The salon team hosted various activities, including cake sales, raffles, and a group of 11 runners from the salon participated in the Great North Run. Additionally, Ms. Boylan arranged an outdoor swimming event at Sweethope Lough in partnership with H20 Trails, which alone raised more than £4,000.
Ms. Boylan selected Tynedale Hospice at Home as the beneficiary of the fundraising efforts because of the charity’s significant impact on the local community, including on members of her own team.
Salon stylists Emily Best and Tania Lowdon both personally benefited from the hospice’s patient transport services during their treatment at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Hospital. This service allowed them to concentrate on their recovery without the added stress of arranging travel.
“This has been an amazing experience for the entire team,” said Ms. Boylan. “We’re thrilled with the amount of money we’ve raised for such a worthwhile cause. We are proud to have supported Tynedale Hospice at Home, which has directly impacted some of our team members. We hope the funds raised will make a real difference in supporting local families in need of vital care during challenging times.”

Their tireless efforts throughout the year have not only raised essential funds but have also helped raise awareness of the vital services we provide. This money will make a significant difference to the local families we support.”
