Evonik has expanded its natural actives portfolio with two new botanical ingredients: CapilAcid, a hair protector, and Oleobiota, a sebum regulator. Both ingredients were integrated into Evonik’s care solutions business following the company’s acquisition of Novachem.
CapilAcid, derived from the maqui berry, acts as a powerful antioxidant, offering protection from environmental stressors and promoting overall hair health. It is especially effective in acidic formulations, providing comprehensive care from the scalp to the hair tips.
Oleobiota, sourced sustainably from the Ñangapirí leaves of the Misiones rainforest, helps regulate sebum production, mattify oily skin, and minimize pores. It was developed in compliance with the Nagoya Protocol to ensure sustainable sourcing and biodiversity protection.
Evonik highlights that these innovations support its commitment to sustainability and its growing portfolio of biosolutions. Ute Schick, head of the care solutions business at Evonik, noted that the integration of Novachem allows the company to offer even more sustainable solutions to customers.
