Rita Ora Ditches Blonde Mullet for Long, Princess-Inspired Hair Ahead of NYE

by Madonna

Rita Ora is ringing in 2025 with a fresh new look, ditching her recently debuted blonde mullet for long, flowing brunette hair. The dramatic transformation came just in time for the New Year’s festivities, marking yet another style shift for the singer known for her bold fashion choices.

Ora’s new look was first seen earlier today as she arrived at the Times Square Ball ahead of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which she will co-host with Ryan Seacrest. Her hair, styled in long, layered brown locks with a center part, was sleek and straight, evoking a classic “princess hair” vibe. Given the quick switch from a blonde mullet just weeks ago, it’s likely the transformation involves a wig or extensions.

She paired the glamorous new hairstyle with a red and black checked coat from Antonio Marras’s Fall 2024 collection. The coat, featuring black shearling fur sleeves and black sparkly floral embellishments, was complemented by a black turtleneck, chunky black boots, and black earrings, rounding out a chic winter look.

Known for her love of experimenting with hair, Ora has previously shared that Gwen Stefani’s iconic bleached blonde locks inspired her own style. “I’ve always loved changing my hair up and coloring it,” she told The Evening Standard.

Ora, who has been open about her own hair struggles, recently launched a hair growth line, Typebea, after experiencing significant hair loss. “My hair has been through it all—heat styling, color changes, cuts, extensions, you name it,” she said earlier this year. “And it eventually got to a point where I was like, ‘Wow, I have hardly any hair left!’”
