Many people may be overlooking a crucial step in their hair care routine that could make a big difference in hair health and growth.
While most are familiar with shampooing, conditioning, and using hydrating masks, one key ingredient often goes unnoticed—hair oils. Despite being frequently recommended on social media and by experts, have you incorporated oils into your routine?
Natasha Bowles, 28, a spa manager at the Manchester Marriott Piccadilly, emphasizes the importance of using oils for promoting hair growth and maintaining healthy hair. “Oiling your hair is essential for significant growth and overall hair health,” she explained. Oils help to “penetrate” the hair, addressing dryness and soothing an irritated scalp, making them a valuable addition to your hair care regimen.
What’s more, oils don’t need to be washed out immediately. “You can leave it in while you’re multitasking—chasing after kids or doing household chores,” said Natasha. This gives the oils time to stimulate hair follicles, enhancing their effectiveness. She also noted the added benefit of massaging the oil into the scalp, which can help alleviate tension headaches and migraines, offering relaxation before bed.
You don’t need to splurge on expensive oils either. Natasha suggests options like coconut oil or almond oil, which are affordable and widely available. By incorporating oils into your routine, you can give your hair the nourishment it needs to thrive.
