Syensqo has formed a five-year partnership with Bota Bio, a leader in industrial biotechnology, to develop advanced biomimetic ingredients for hair and scalp care. This collaboration reinforces Syensqo’s commitment to expanding its biotechnology-driven product portfolio.
Since its 2019 founding, Bota Bio has become a global innovation leader, connecting biological design with scalable manufacturing to promote sustainability. This partnership leverages Bota Bio’s performance protein technology to address key hair care concerns, such as hair repair and growth.
“We share a vision of growth and innovation, and this partnership strengthens biotechnology’s role in expanding our specialty ingredients,” said Thomas Canova, Syensqo’s Head of Research & Innovation.
The collaboration will be led by Syensqo’s Renewable Materials and Biotechnology Platform, drawing on the company’s 40 years of expertise in hair care and scalp treatments.
The partnership is also supported by Syensqo Ventures, which accelerates innovation by working with emerging startups. Dr. Cheryl Cui, CEO of Bota Bio, expressed excitement about combining Syensqo’s knowledge with their expertise to create new products.
Syensqo will showcase its commitment to biomaterials and biotechnology at the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit in Paris, where it will sponsor the “Industrial Biotech and New Materials” competition.
