The Root Project, a new haircare brand, focuses on foundational root care to promote healthier hair. The brand adheres to clean beauty standards set by Credo Beauty and uses 100% upcycled packaging to minimize environmental impact.
Launching with three essential products, The Root Project introduces the Clean Canvas detoxifying cleanser, designed with peppermint to stimulate the scalp, the Instant Pleasure moisturizer infused with Calabrian bergamot oil for smoothness, and the Power Smooth mask containing pressed lemon to reduce fallout. These products feature the brand’s signature Root Complex, a blend of botanical-based and biomimetic ingredients for optimal hair health.
Co-founder Lucrecia Jovel, formerly the VP of Global Product Development at Nars, shared the brand’s philosophy: “We aim to simplify routines, embracing the strength of simplicity in haircare.”
This approach taps into several growing trends in the beauty industry, including waterless beauty formulations that reduce the need for water, aligning with eco-friendly and sustainable product innovations. The Root Project also meets the increasing demand for simplified haircare routines, offering effective solutions without unnecessary complexity. Furthermore, the brand’s use of upcycled packaging aligns with the growing consumer preference for sustainable, environmentally conscious products.
The emphasis on botanical ingredients represents a shift toward natural alternatives in haircare, providing consumers with effective solutions without harsh chemicals. As clean beauty retail continues to thrive, brands like The Root Project, with their commitment to ethical sourcing and transparency, are shaping the future of the industry.
