BluSky Brands, a Welsh distributor of professional haircare products, is set to expand following a £25,000 loan from BCRS Business Loans. The family-run business, based in Corwen, has launched a new line of Brazilian-developed smoothing products, designed to help UK salons and stylists tackle unruly, frizzy hair.
The 13-product line, marketed as Brazilian Nano, was made possible by the funding, which supports product development and marketing efforts. BluSky Brands has been exclusively supporting UK stylists and salons for years, and this launch marks a major step in growing their portfolio of innovative, high-quality products.
Tony Cripps, founder and managing director of BluSky Brands, who has over 40 years of experience in the hair industry, noted the unique opportunity of bringing the Brazilian Nano line to the UK and Europe. Cripps was introduced to BCRS Business Loans through Haines Watts and used the loan to help launch the product line, which has received a positive reception from the hairdressing community.
“The finance has not only enhanced the value of our business but will also open doors for continued growth,” Cripps said.
James Pittendreigh, business development manager at BCRS Business Loans, highlighted BluSky’s understanding of salon needs, adding that the potential for the Brazilian Nano line is significant. Bethan Bannister, senior investment manager at the British Business Bank, further emphasized the £130m Investment Fund for Wales’ role in supporting growing Welsh businesses, noting BluSky’s ability to recognize gaps in the haircare market.
With this backing, BluSky Brands is well-positioned to continue its growth and bring innovative solutions to the UK haircare market.
