Kym Herjavec, the professional dancer from Dancing With the Stars (DWTS), surprised her fans on March 11, 2025, with a dramatic new hairstyle. In a video shared on Instagram Stories, the 48-year-old revealed that she had cut her hair short, stating, “So, I just chopped all my hair off.” She added with a laugh, “I’ve gone darker, and chopped it off. It looked great when the hairdresser did it. It was like, dead straight and really cool.”
In the clip, Herjavec wore her hair in large curling waves but explained that her natural curls were the true foundation of the look. “My hair’s naturally really curly, so I just blow-dried it, and this is what we’ve got!” she shared. Her formerly long hair is now chin-length, giving her a fresh and elegant new look.
Later, the ballroom star tucked her new style under a hat to attend an Easter show with her 6-year-old twins, Hudson and Haven. She posted a cheerful snapshot on Instagram, captioning it, “Easter show, Here we go!”
Reflecting on Her DWTS Career
Kym Herjavec, originally from Sydney, made her debut as a pro on the Australian version of Dancing With the Stars before moving to the U.S. edition, where she danced for 10 seasons. In a March 8, 2024, interview with Parade, she shared why she chose to leave the show, citing injury. “My hamstrings are messed up and I wanted to leave when I did,” she said. Herjavec made her final appearance as a pro on season 24 in 2017.
Despite her decision to step away, she spoke fondly of her time on the show, calling it “amazing” and expressing gratitude for the opportunities it brought, including meeting her husband, Robert, and starting a family.
Teasing New Project with Gilles Marini
In addition to her new look, Herjavec is keeping busy with a new project. On March 28, 2025, she shared exciting news on social media, revealing she’s working on a movie with her former DWTS costar, Gilles Marini. She posted a note on Instagram Story announcing the film and tagging director Marco Deufemia, known for his Christmas-themed movies.
Herjavec also shared a photo with Marini, revealing the project is being filmed in Canada. Marini, known for his role in Switched at Birth, posted a snowy birthday video from the location.
In a Facebook post on April 1, 2025, Herjavec teased the project further, writing, “Made a movie with friends @carsonkressley @gillesmarini” and adding, “Can’t wait to share more soon.” Fans are eagerly awaiting more details on the exciting new venture.
