Sofia Richie Grainge Credits This Mask for Her “Luscious” Hair Growth

by Madonna

Sofia Richie Grainge has rapidly become a prominent figure in the world of fashion and beauty, consistently serving as a source of inspiration for many. Her signature sleek, slicked-back bun has become an iconic look, seen everywhere from the red carpet to her casual grocery store outings. Fans have been eagerly seeking insights into how she perfects this style on a regular basis. Fortunately, Richie Grainge recently took to TikTok to unveil the secret product behind her flawless bun and her ongoing hair growth.

Richie Grainge’s Healthy Hair Bun Secret

With her hair freshly washed and still damp, Richie Grainge initiated her TikTok tutorial by confessing that while fans view the slicked-back bun as ultra-chic, she personally considers it her “lazy girl” go-to. She admitted, “I do it all the time because I’m really lazy with my hair,” and explained that over the years, she has honed an effortless technique.

Starting with wet hair, Richie Grainge sprayed UNITE’s 7Seconds Detangler generously through her lush strands, beginning the bun-making process with the first crucial step: achieving a “strong center part.” She then outlined the three essential products she relies on to secure this look while nurturing her hair: “I need an oil, an Oribe lotion, and, most importantly, a hair mask.”

As she applied Christophe Robin’s Regenerating Mask throughout her hair, Richie Grainge revealed that during the pandemic, her hair struggled to grow past her collarbone due to years of bleaching and dyeing. It was this struggle that led her to swap out gel for restorative hair masks in her up-do routine. “I’m convinced it’s the only reason my hair grew so lusciously during COVID,” she emphasized.

Continuing with the tutorial, her hair now coated with the Robin mask from roots to tips, the celebrity used a fine-tooth comb to create a part just behind her ear, separating the front sections from the rest and securing them in place with clips. She proceeded to apply Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion to the top of her head and, crucially, at the base of her neck. She then brushed her hair into the desired position for her bun, emphasizing that the key lies not in the top layer of hair but in securing the underlying section.

Once the ponytail was secure, she released the front sections of her hair and began brushing and securing them back towards the ponytail with the Oribe lotion. She brushed each section back tightly to meet the ponytail and secured them with hair ties. Finally, she twisted her long ponytail around her finger and formed the bun, adding one more hair tie to lock it in place. To complete the look, she smoothed down any imperfections, applied extra Oribe lotion beneath the bun and on the sides of her head, and added a dash of extra shine with UNITE Blonda Oil.
