In a recent interview with IRK Magazine, actress Hayden Panettiere shared the inspiration behind her bold decision to switch from her signature blonde to a vibrant pastel pink hair color. The 34-year-old actress explained that the unexpected open schedule resulting from Hollywood strikes allowed her the creative freedom to experiment with her look.
“I’ve had pink hair before, and I loved it! I’ve been begging my team to let me dye it for a while now, and given what I had on my slate with work and photo shoots, I wasn’t able to,” Panettiere revealed. “Then the strike hit, so I thought… why not!? I’m not filming anything right now, and it’s an opportunity to do what I want with it and be creative differently.”
Panettiere first unveiled her pink hair on Instagram in September, initially leaving fans uncertain if the change was temporary for a photoshoot. However, she has continued to embrace the vibrant hue, even adding a touch of green at the roots to enhance the look.
The Nashville star expressed her lifelong affinity for color in her style, emphasizing her love for bright and bold colors. As an adult, Panettiere found fashion to be a means of creative expression, allowing her to explore her identity freely.
“I began to be encouraged to embrace who I am and the type of image I want to project,” she stated. “In doing that, I’ve grown to love fashion so much more because it’s become a creative and freeing form of expression — not something that confines me.”
Panettiere, known for her love of color and self-expression, teased the possibility of venturing into the beauty industry. She hinted at collaborating with her makeup artist, Janice Daoud, to create a unique and distinctive makeup line, promising it would be “different and unlike anything else.”
