PEORIA – A vibrant blast from the past unfolded as approximately 300 attendees embarked on a journey through the 70s, 80s, and 90s at the 4th annual Hair and Fashion Showcase.
The focal point of the event was a dynamic runway show that brought to life some of the most iconic fashion trends and hairstyles spanning three influential decades. Attendees were treated to mesmerizing performances by dance groups, adding a rhythmic element to the celebration. In an exciting addition to this year’s program, a braid battle took center stage, showcasing the artistry and creativity of participants.
The showcase provided a platform for twenty-two vendors and small businesses to display their unique offerings, ranging from vintage clothing to cutting-edge hair styling products. Adrienne Jones-Yarbrough, the coordinator of the Peoria Hair and Fashion Showcase, expressed gratitude towards the participants, emphasizing the collaborative effort that makes the event possible. “It takes a village. We appreciate [the participants] doing it. We love for [the vendors and performers] to come out and present to show the city what they’re able to do,” she commented.
The enchanting event unfolded on Sunday at the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette, marking a successful intersection of fashion, creativity, and community in the heart of Peoria.
