Helena welcomes a unique addition to its beauty scene with the inauguration of Loc and Leaf Salon, where hair care intertwines seamlessly with a love for plants.
Owned by Holly Hamper, Loc and Leaf Salon stands out as a haven where patrons can indulge in a blend of hair services alongside a touch of greenery. Hamper, reflecting on her venture, expressed delight at the enthusiastic response from customers to the inclusion of plants in their salon experience.
“Seeing people leave with a plant in hand is truly heartening. It’s an unexpected joy,” Hamper remarked.
Contrary to conventional expectations, Loc and Leaf offers a full spectrum of salon services, ranging from haircuts and coloring to waxing and facials, all while extending the opportunity for clients to take home a leafy companion.
“My interest in clean organic products led me to create this space, where I could merge my passion for plants with top-notch services,” Hamper explained.
The choice of name, ‘Loc and Leaf,’ not only nods to the botanical aspect but also underscores the salon’s commitment to utilizing clean and organic products exclusively.
With an increasing consciousness regarding personal care products, Hamper notes a growing trend towards safer, organic alternatives, propelled in part by the influence of social media.
“The shift towards organic products is evident, and it’s encouraging to witness,” Hamper observed.
Despite its recent inception, Loc and Leaf Salon has already seen a bustling stream of customers, with many loyal clients from Hamper’s previous salon following suit, alongside an influx of walk-ins intrigued by the botanical offerings.
“It’s been a whirlwind of activity. The support has been overwhelming,” Hamper shared.
Looking ahead, Hamper envisions expanding the salon’s repertoire by introducing additional stylists, possibly a barber, along with a broader array of plants and rescue varieties. Plans also include hosting classes and community events, such as plant swaps, to foster a vibrant salon culture.
